In order to distribute Himself into man, God the Creator had to become a man, live a human life, die on the cross for man's sins, and then resurrect. In His resurrection an amazing thing happened--the Lord became the life giving Spirit (1 Corinthians 15:45b). This verse may puzzle you. I never understood it until I heard Witness Lee share on it. This is it in a nutshell: The Lord became the Spirit just so He could become a form that could enter into man's human spirit. Here you can see the Triune God--the Father, Son, and Spirit are all working with the goal to enter into man and regenerate him! I feel that the opening of this verse to the Lord's people is one of the greatest treasures in the ministry of Witness Lee.
In the place I went to church as child, I never heard that the Lord was now the Spirit (2 Corinthians 3:17) or that I had a spirit. I was helped when I was a new believer to hear that way back in Genesis 2:7 when God made man, He created us with a spirit that can contain God's life: Jehovah God formed man [his physical body] from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life and man became a living soul. The footnote from the Recovery Version of Holy Bible published by Living Steam Ministry has an eye opening footnote on this verse. "Heb. neshama translated spirit in Proverbs 20:27, indicating that the breath of life breathed into man's body became the spirit of man, the human spirit (cf. Job 32:8)...." This corresponds to 1 Thessalonians 5:23 which emphatically states that man has three distinct parts, and we can see each of them in this verse in Genesis.
I really like John 20:22 where we see the Lord's visiting His disciples on the evening of His resurrection. What does He do? And when He had said this, He breathed into them and said to them, Receive the Holy Spirit. In this verse we can see that the Lord's breathing into the disciples is His dispensing of His divine life into them. It's interesting that in both Genesis and in John we see breathing. This indicates that the Lord is available to receive just like the air surrounding us.
I finished reading the Life Studies of Romans this past week, and in message 60 Witness Lee shares how God is triune so that He can dispense His divine life into us:
This is one of Witness Lee's classic illustrations that helps me understand more what God's dispensing is. Besides being like air, the Lord's life is also like juice so easy for us to take in.In order for God to dispense Himself into us, He must be triune...The word dispense means to distribute. Suppose we have a large container of juice. In order for people to drink the juice, we must find a way to dispense the juice from the container into them. The best way is to pour the juice into cups and then distribute it among the people present. The juice used to be in the container, but now it is in the people in whom it has been dispensed. When we speak of the dispensation of the Triune God, we mean that God distributes Himself to us and then dispenses Himself into our being just as the juice is dispensed from the container into those who drink it. In His dispensation, God actually enters into our being, fills our vessel, and becomes one with us. This is the dispensation of the Triune God for the fulfillment of His purpose (Life Study of Romans, Page 625-626).

Last year I started re-reading the Life Studies of the New Testament. If you click on the Life Study tab, you can find other titles that may interest you.
Hi there, I was at work yesterday and at lunch I did a Google to check some of my blog titles as I want to change a few of them. In that process, I came across your blog where I found about 3 of my blogs on the Life Studies and 2 gluten recipes. I learned this early on when I started to blog: In order to use anything from someone's site under Fair Use laws you must have at least half if not more of the information your own writing. You must also link back directly to the website where you got this information. I checked Blogger today and they state that first I need to bring this to your attention and ask you to graciously fix it.
